Project ( all together )

All 4 together.

Final project number 4

Winter. Honestly I had alot of trouble with this one. I was not sure how to add detail and still keep it winter-y. I'm sorry it came out kinda crappy.

Final Project number 3

Fall

Final project number 2

Summer

Final project number 1

For my 4 pieces I decided that my theme would be the four seasons. This one is spring. I sketched out and then colored it with pastels, then went into photoshop and added some filters.

inspiration

I have never seen someone use tinted charcoals before, but now I REALLY want to try it! And I never thought of using a paintbrush to smooth the charcoal and pastels, which I would also like to try out sometime.

I am kinda obsessed with this opening, and since its animated I feel like I should post it. It has so many amazing scenes, I may do a few thumbnails later on....

mega mountie

Playing around with the mega mountie, he is now holding a paint brush.
I recently started using these smudge sticks in my art projects and i really love them! They smooth things over and make them nice and pretty and keep things from smearing. I can't believe I never used them before!

at home projects

Process photos. Honestly I feel pretty embarrassed uploading these their so bad.

At home projects

So I was watching Soul Eater last night, and one of the characters made an interesting expression, and even though I don't usually like to start something while I'm int he middle of a project, this just needed to be drawn.

Brainstormer project

This is my finished brainstormer project for flight, mythical, tree. When I think of flight and mythical, I immediately think of birds, so I tried to incorporate tat by making my tree bird shaped. I sketched the bird out in pencil and then took a picture of it with my phone and put it in photoshop. I then used the charcoal effect to make the lines more pronounced. I then used the paint brush tool to create color in the background, and took the opacity of the layer down to about 50%. I then used the film grain effect. I was trying to make it look like it was on an old piece of paper, because I think of old paintings and scrolls and such when I think of "mythical" things. I then added color to the leaves and there you have it.

brainstormer project

This is one of the first things I did to my project when I put in photoshop. I tried to upload the version I have now, which is almost complete, but it won't let me without making it so I can no longer edit the picture. But in photoshop I have added color and such to it.

First draft of brainstormer project.

Alittle bit more. Slowly, slowly progressing.

Brainstormer ideas

I decided that I would do the flight, mythical, tree brainstormer idea for my project. These are some thumbnails of ideas I had for it. I haven't really decided on one yet though.
My picture of Edward, still in progress. It is progressing very slowly, but progressing none the less.

brainstormer ideas

The flight, mythical, tree idea immediately made made me think of this floating castle from the movie castle in the sky.

Brainstormer ideas

mistaken judgement, ice age, farm
hero to kin, rusty, robot
genius, hellish, captain
pursuit, rusty, forest animals

This is the picture that inspired me to draw the previous incomplete drawing.
This is a drawing of Edward Elric from full metal alchemist. It is still in progress. Done with pencil and paper.
